In the days prior to ATT launching the HTC One X+, the carrier confirmed that the flagship device from the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer will be joined by the HTC One VX in making its debut in the shelves of the wireless provider. Sad to say, this is not to happen because the HTC mid-ranger became MIA despite the fact that the carrier announced that handset is due to hit the shelves back in November.
Just last week though, rumors started spreading like wild fire that the HTC One VX is due to make its appearance at AT&T and true enough, the handset has finally become available for purchase either online or from the shelves in the carrier’s brick and mortar retail locations. The handset fits in nicely in the midrange category of HTC where it slides in right under the HTC One S. Should you be interested in getting these babies, be prepared to fork over $49.99 while signing a new two-year service agreement with the wireless provider.
There is a slight problem with the price point of the HTC One VX though. Nope, it is not overpriced at its price point although the handset is capable enough to command the $50 price point AT&T slapped on its retail package. The problem stems from the fact that the $50 price point nowadays is flooded with other equally-capable devices which means more competition for the handset. Not only that, the price point of several other high-end devices are getting slashed left and right that adding a couple more bucks to your $50 will let you get your hands on a flagship device from other manufacturers.
These two factors combine into something that makes the HTC One VX a little less unattractive when you come to think of it and unless AT&T starts giving the handset a price cut, the chances of the HTC One VX making it big in the market becomes a big question mark. Despite that, there is no denying the fact that the HTC One VX is one capable device for a mid-ranger and we have the specs sheet of the handset coming right up to prove our point.
The HTC One VX reached official status when its existence and addition to the Android lineup of AT&T was announced back in September. Originally slated to make a November debut in the shelves of the wireless provider, the HTC One VX only made it the shelves last December 7. The circuitry of the handset is built around its QualComm MSM8930 SnapDragon chipset which comes with a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor and a full gigabyte of RAM. Its storage space is a bit meager at just 8GB but the handset comes with a microSD card slot for memory expansion purposes so the meager internal memory of the HTC One VX shouldn’t be too much of an issue. As for its display, the HTC One VX sports a 4.5-inch SuperLCD 2 panel with a qHD resolution of 540 x 960 pixels while its dual-shooter configuration includes a rear 5MP shooter and a front VGA self-portrait and video call snapper.
