htconeblackjIf you are an Android smartphone lover, you need to know who Sundar Pichai is. He is the head of both Chrome and Android, and he recently announced that quite arguably one of the most powerful smartphones around will be getting the “Nexus experience” in June. At the recent D11 conference, Pichai delivered a firm June 26 launch date for the powerful HTC One 4G smartphone with a pure Google experience. The oft-rumored HTC one “Google phone” is now guaranteed to become a reality.

The Wall Street Journal staged its 11th annual “D: All Things Digital” conference this past week in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. With industry bigwigs such as Tim Cook from Apple, Twitter’s Dick Costolo, Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg, Google’s Pichai and IAC’s Barry Diller, the yearly get-together of innovative minds and important companies in the digital arena is often the backdrop for significant announcements in the smartphone marketplace.

HTC also reiterated the announcement, stating that a 32 GB version of the HTC One will run stock Android and deliver Jelly Bean 4.2.2, will retain the Beats Audio sound enhancement package, and will initially be able to run on the T-Mobile and AT&T LTE networks in the United States. No mention of Sprint or Verizon access at this point, but Android purists have to be ecstatic at the news. In just roughly one month of sales in the United States, the HTC One has managed 5 million units sold, according to an HTC executive speaking with the Wall Street Journal under condition of anonymity.

Gone would be the HTC Sense Android UI, which delivers features like Blinkfeed, an increasingly popular application that delivers all of your important data and social networking information to a single screen. Sense TV allows you to control your television and home stereo system with your HTC One smartphone, and multiple high-end camera features are delivered as well for the HTC Sense UI. There was no discussion of what popular aspects of the HTC Sense user interface, if any, would make their way to the HTC One “pure Google” handset.

With a slim but durable 0.37 inch (9.3 mm) thick body, the HTC One delivers a 4.70 inch display and Full HD resolution at 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. This is thanks to the industry-leading 468 ppi pixel density, and a full 16.0 hours of talk time is capable from a full battery charge. The quad core Snapdragon 600 CPU has been clocked at 1.7 GHz, and that processor is backed up by 32 GB of onboard storage and 2.0 GB of RAM memory. High resolution video capture is present at 1,080P HD, and the HTC One delivers a Stereo FM radio with RDS and dual front stereo speakers.

The HTC One 4G Stealth Black can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at .
