htconex+The HTC One X+ tells you exactly what is on its mind by its name. The little + at the end of its title tells you that it is basically the powerful HTC One X, “plus” some upgrades and updated features. Offered in stealth black and polar white, the handset hit the AT&T 4G LTE system in the United States on November 16 of last year, and currently retails for around $169 on contract at the Amazon Wireless store. This is the very first smartphone in the world that delivers both an LTE radio and a Tegra processor, and the powerful “4+1″ Nvidia quad core processor even contains a battery preserving fifth core.

The HTC One X+ is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $79.99.

Imagine all the menial and low battery draw operations being handled by that fifth core, with the main quad cores in the processor handling the morning important requests and processing operations. The 2,100 mA battery is larger than the one found on the original HTC One X, and the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system is also present. The handset is slim and light, especially when you factor in the large display and amount of hardware on board, and the Sense 4+ UI overlay meshes with Jelly Bean 4.1.

The handset measures 5.29 x 2.75 x 0.35 inches (134.36 x 69.9 x 8.9 mm) in size, weighing in at 4.55 ounces (129 g). The large 4.70 inch Super LCD 2 display offers a high-end resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels. That is laid out at 312 pixels over every inch of display space, and the screen renders visuals in more than 16 million different colors. Standard capacitive, multitouch gestures are supported for device navigation, and the handset is protected against scratching by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2.

An NVIDIA Tegra 3 AP37 microchip package is used for device operations, built around the quad core 1.7 GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor mentioned above. A separate chip is used to handle all graphics processing, a ULP GeForce GPU, 1.0 GB of RAM system memory is built-in, and an industry-leading 64 GB of built-in data storage is present. The HTC One X+ provides NFC wireless connectivity options out-of-the-box.

The full range Beats Audio sound system has been pre-installed, and the handset delivers a rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder which offers continuous autofocus when recording video, digital image stabilization, a built-in LED flash and f/2.0 lens aperture. Also on board is a special effects package, and video recording is in 1,080P HD resolution. Built into the front of the handset is a 1.6 megapixel chat cam, which allows you to make or receive video calls and take portrait snapshots.

You can purchase the HTC One X+ for a discounted price tag and save $30 now starting at $79.99.
