In today’s smartphone world, we begin to see handsets with quad-core processors under the hood slowly getting released into the market. This trend was started by Taiwanese smartphone and tablet manufacturer HTC when it came up with the HTC Edge late last year, the handset that is said to have the distinction of being the first superphone in the world to draw its computing power from a quad-core processor. However, we all know now that the moniker Edge did not make it to the market but the handset instead got christened as the HTC One X.

In US shores, AT&T released the handset as the HTC One X 4G and is offering it for $199.99 with a new two-year subscription with the wireless provider. In cases of new smartphones such as the HTC One X 4G, it is just a matter of time before an enterprising developer gets to come up with a way to root the device. And in the case of the AT&T version of the handset, an enterprising developer going by the name of Kennethpenn over at XDA-Developers has already managed to come up with a way that will give you root access to your HTC One X 4G. And not only that, Kennthpenn packaged the whole root process for the HTC One X 4G in a neat little one-click package so all you basically need to do is download the necessary files for the process and before you know it, you already have a rooted HTC One X 4G from AT&T.
Since this is a one-click process, all the hard work is already cut out for you and you don’t even have to contend with confusing ADB commands for that matter. Not only does this process root your HTC One X 4G, it also gets Super SU installed onto your handset. Be aware however of the risks involved when tinkering with your device is all I can say. If you however are interested in making the HTC One X 4G your mobile weapon of choice, select online retailers will give you a $50 savings because it will let you have the handset for only $149.99 with the same two-year contract with AT&T for that matter.
The HTC One X 4G was made official last February when AT&T announced the addition of the handset to its lineup of Android-powered smartphones. AT&T ‘s variant of the device packs a QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset at the heart of its operation and the computing power needed by the handset is provided by its dual-core Krait processor running at a clock speed of 1.5 GHz and a full gigabyte of RAM. It comes with 16GB of internal storage which sadly is not expandable while the display of the handset on the other hand measures 4.7 inches and is of the Super IPS LCD2 panel. The display itself is made from Gorilla Glass and has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It also comes with an impressive camera department with its main 8MP shooter and 1.3MP front-facer.
