The HTC One X has finally arrived, and one of the most anticipated high feature Android smartphones to hit the marketplace in some time doesn’t look like it’s going to disappoint. The handset has one of the largest screens of any 4G smartphone, and an extremely high-end resolution. The processor is as fast as any in the 4G smartphone marketplace, the full range Beats by Dr. Dre audio platform is on board, and the vaunted Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) 4.0 Android operating system is present out-of-the-box. Exclusive to the AT&T 4G wireless network, the HTC One X retails for $119 on contract at select retailers and is available in your choice of either Gray or White.

HTC employs a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon microchip package to power the handset, and that includes a dual core 1.5 GHz Krait central processor and Adreno 225 graphics processing chip. A full 1.0 GB of RAM memory is on board, and the HTC One X delivers 16 GB of data storage space built into the handset. There is no microSD slot, but AT&T more than makes up for this by providing 25 GB of Dropbox storage access for free for the first two years of ownership. The HTC One X has a useful feature that allows you to add photos immediately to your Dropbox account, which immediately syncs to all your personal computers.
Many critics and industry analysts have called the camera package on the HTC One X the best that any smartphone has to offer, and for good reason. One handy feature that just makes sense is the combination of the photo capture and video record button. Some phones require that you move between menus or screens to shoot photos and video, but the HTC One X is not one of them. You can also take 20 or more photos at a time at 5 frames per second. And in what is being called instant photo capture, the shot is taken in approximately 0.7 seconds, with the F/2.0 lens aperture providing 40% more light. With the built-in LED flash, that makes for excellent low light camera operation. The One X handset also delivers the ability to capture still snapshots while recording video.
A preloaded YouTube video player joins the full range Beats audio software in the multimedia package on board the handset, and the 4.7 inch screen is one of the largest in the entire 4G smartphone marketplace. The 720 x 1280 pixel resolution is delivered at more than 312 pixels per inch, placing the display resolution at the extreme high end of the smartphone arena. A layer of scratch resistant Gorilla Glass protects the display, and talk time runs an above average 8.5 hours from a single battery charge. Buy the HTC One X starting at $119.
