The HTC Rezound is without a doubt one of the best smartphones in the Android stable of Verizon. In fact, the handset from the Taiwanese smartphone and tablet manufacturer runs a close second to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in the wireless provider’s smartphone leaderboards. Some of our smartphone-crazed brethren on the other hand are bound to disagree and claim that the only edge that the current Google flagship device has over the HTC Rezound is the fact that it already runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its operating system whereas the HTC Rezound outshines the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in all other areas after that.

The HTC Rezound is also bound to get upgraded to the latest iteration of the Google mobile operating system as confirmed by both HTC and Verizon but no ETA has been confirmed as of yet. Several Ice Cream Sandwich ROMs for the handset have leaked in the past and have given users of the handset a feel of how ICS will look in the HTC Rezound but nothing official has been released so far. Just recently, the handset got another taste of a leaked Ice Cream Sandwich update and early adopters who took advantage of the leaked ROM and flashed in onto their devices swear that the ROM is as official as it can get and is near-final build already thereby giving rise to the speculations that an official release is not too far out in the horizon.
In fact, these speculations could become very true if the leaked screenshot of an internal Best Buy system is to be believed. The leaked screenshot from the retail giant pins April 6 as the date that Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will hit the HTC Rezound via the standard over the air rollout. Of course, this is not iron clad and definitely not set in stone but given the software update history of Verizon, we tend to be very optimistic that in a couple of days’ time, we’ll see the first HTC handset in US shores with Audio Beats integration get cranked up to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Well, instead of sitting idly and twiddling our thumbs while waiting for the update to rollout, why not go through the specs sheet of the HTC Rezound to keep ourselves busy while waiting? The HTC Rezound is still a spring chicken having hit the shelves of Verizon in November of last year and since then has become one of the best-selling handsets of the wireless provider. It reeks of pure power from the inside thanks to its QualComm MSM8660 SnapDragon chipset while the computing power needed for a very smooth and snappy operation is provided by a combination of a dual-core 1.5 GHz Scorpion processor and 1GB of RAM. The handset’s storage space comes up to 16GB but this is still expandable while its SuperLCD display measures 4.3 inches diagonally and has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It also comes with a very capable 8MP rear-facing camera while its front shooter has a sensor resolution of 2MP.
