With the flagship phone of Taiwanese maker HTC, the One, already doing well to hold its ground against the Samsung Galaxy S4, the manufacturer is planning to take things a bit further. HTC had always been the pioneer of making devices with big screens during the initial days of the company, but has now gotten a bit conservative on the screen size issue. Though it was HTC to make the first full HD display reach the market with the 1080p display debuting in the Butterfly, or the Droid DNA as it was known in the American market.
The HTC One 4G is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $79.99.
But rumors now claimed that HTC is planning to launch a new phablet. The company has now codenamed this as the HTC T6. HTC has still not commented on this issue publicly yet, but the company has definitely taken notice of the success of the Samsung Galaxy Note series of phones and is now planning to foray into the phablet market, expecting a good run of form. The question now is if the new phablet device would be a successor to the Butterfly device or a new device altogether. HTC has planned to incorporate the internal hardware of the very successful HTC One into its new phablet without relying on the hardware that was present in its previous large screen device, the HTC Butterfly. There have also been rumors regarding a new device in the Butterfly range, which is adding further confusion as to where HTC will place the phablet but most people are expecting it to be just a bigger screened version of the HTC One.
Sources have confirmed that HTC’s new phablet will be sporting a display that has a size of greater than 5 inches but lesser than 6 inches. Verizon does not have the HTC One in its lineup of devices and with the expectation of the new HTC phablet doing the rounds, the question now is if Verizon will now choose the HTC One, the Butterfly 2 or the new HTC phablet to be the flag bearer of HTC devices on the number one carrier in the US. HTC is also expected to launch the HTC One Mini, which is touted to go head to head with the again rumored Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. The HTC One Mini is expected to sport a 4.3 inch screen and have hardware slightly less powerful compared to the One.
The HTC One 4G can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $79.99.
