HTCM8HTC made the news wire buzz last year when the HTC One hit the market in April and since then the phone has been selling very well on all of the mobile carriers in the United States that offer it.  There has been a lot of talk over the last few months about the smartphone that is ready to replace the HTC One and that is code named the HTC M8.  You might have heard a few things about the smartphone recently.

The most reported rumor to come around over the last two weeks if the fact that the company might ditch capacitive buttons for the on-screen buttons we are all used to seeing.  If that is the case, HTC is going to be bringing a major change to its smartphone line and for the most part, the consumers will be happy about it.  This week, a well known Twitter account has leaked information that the change is confirmed and that the HTC M8 will come with on-screen buttons rather than the capacitive buttons seen on the HTC One.  The HTC One was such a nice a powerful device, the buttons were the only thing that everyone was talking about.

There is no menu button, instead it offered a back button, the HTC logo and a home button.  Many thought the HTC logo should have been used like the menu or home button, but that was not the case and it showed up in many video reviews of the phone as a negative point.  Many though the layout of the phone was messy, with long-presses added, and double tap options that just did not seem to make much since for multi-tasking.  The typical settings area, shown by 3 dots, was essentially a black bar across the display that wasted space.

With the latest bit of leaked information, it would appear that HTC is ready to do away with the buttons and make the interactive display one that is easy to use and more efficient for users.  Android 4.4 KitKat software hides all of the on screen buttons when they are not in use so that you can enjoy the full screen.  With so many apps using the entire display, it only makes sense that there will not be buttons in the way.  The HTC M8 is rumored to be coming to the US market by the end of March.
