Part of that Beats Audio package is a unique audio amplifier that powers both the handset speaker and the 3.5 mm audio jack. This boosts your audio signal for better sound quality, and operates whether you are simply listening to music, playing a game or watching a video or movie. The HTC Windows Phone 8X delivers a large 4.30 inch display, and that screen is protected against everyday use and abuse by a layer of 2nd generation Corning Gorilla Glass 2.

Pixel density runs high at 342 pixels per inch on the Super LCD 2 display, where more than 16 million colors are present on the 720 x 1,280 pixel resolution screen. Standard capacitive, multitouch gestures are supported, and built-in proximity and light sensors help automatically adjust for display brightness, automatically dim the display after periods of non-use, and help conserve battery life.

With approximately 40 percent better than average 4G smartphone talk time, the Windows Phone 8X delivers a full 11.3 hours from a single charge of its 1,800 mA battery. Standby battery power runs approximately 12.1 days, the Internet Explorer 10 web browser has been pre-installed, as have popular applications Facebook, YouTube, Picasa and Twitter. A dual core 1.5 GHz central processor powers the handset, and 1.0 GB of RAM system memory has been built-in. The Windows Phone 8X also delivers 16 GB of built-in storage, and an Adreno 225 GPU handles all graphics processing.

The camera on board the HTC Windows Phone 8X for AT&T delivers an ultra wide 88 degree viewing angle for image and video capture, on not just the rear facing camcorder but also the front facing chat cam. That rear snapper comes with a dedicated shutter key and HTC’s exclusive ImageSense technology, benefits from a special effects package and several high-end camera features, and is capable of recording video at 1,080P HD resolution and 30 frames per second. The front facing chat cam provides video call support, and can also snap portrait snapshots.
