Pixel density is extremely high, and both front and rear cameras offer extra-wide lenses.

The HTC Windows Phone 8X is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.01.

The Beats Audio sound enhancement package uses unique audio amplifiers for the 3.5mm audio jack and the speaker, boosting the audio signal for better sound. The sound boost works whether you are playing a game, surfing the web, watching movies and videos, or listening to music. Aside from running on the AT&T 4G LTE network in the United States, the handset is global-ready, accessible from any GSM or UMTS network in the world. This is also the first Windows Phone to offer Beats Audio, and it is slim at 0.40 inches (10.1 mm), weighing just 4.59 ounces (130 g).

The large 4.30 inch screen delivers an excellent pixel density at 342 pixels per inch, with an overall resolution of 720 by 1,280 pixels. The Super LCD 2 display shows off more than 16 million individual colors, accepts standard capacitive, multitouch gestures for navigation, and is protected against normal abuse by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2. Light and proximity sensors help enhance battery life, in turn delivering a full 11.30 hours of talk time from a single charge.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 System chip powers the HTC Windows Phone 8X for AT&T, and it is centered around a dual core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU. An Adreno 225 graphics processor is also on board, as is 16 GB of built-in data storage space and 1.0 GB of RAM system memory. The extra-wide capability of the front and back cameras on the HTC Windows Phone 8X means 88 degree panorama capture, delivering almost three times the capture area of most other smartphone cameras.

The rear facing camera has an 8.0 megapixel sensor, dedicated shutter key, and exclusive ImageSense technology. This gives that camera some photo trickery and special effects, as well as ultra-fast shutter speeds and a continuous shot mode. The f/2.0 lens aperture captures more light than the average smartphone camera, and video is recorded in 1,080P HD resolution. The front facing chat cam can support video calls, and offers a 2.0 megapixel sensor. The Internet Explorer 10 mobile web browser has been pre-installed, while Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Picasa applications are ready for use out-of-the-box.

The HTC Windows Phone 8X can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $0.01.
