A couple of weeks back, users of the Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi in the UK across the pond finally got treated to the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for their tablets. During that time, users of the tablet in US shores started asking question as to when the ICS update for the tablet will make its way to our side of the world. Turns out they don’t have to wait very long because reports are coming in from all over that the Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi in US shores is finally getting the update that will give it the Android 4.0 refresh.
If you happen to rock a Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi for your tablet of choice, the update is rolling out via OTA AND Samsung Kies so you might want to be on the lookout for the notification that will let you know about the update’s availability on your device. Should you have no patience for that, you also have the option of manually checking for the update every once in a while and hope that your Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi is one of the very first to get the update for that matter. If all else fails and the update is still nowhere to be found, then it probably is time for you to hook up your Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi to your computer and launch the Samsung Kies software to get the update process started.
Once applied to the tablet, the update will crank up the platform of the Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich while its software version will be bumped up to IMM76D. It will of course come with all the goodies and treats that we have come to associate with Ice Cream Sandwich but expect the Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi to become a whole more capable than it already is after getting the update applied.

Why do none of these articles, when suggesting we hook up to our PC via Samsung Kies, ever mention the fact that Kies refuses to connect to our tablet? I’ve tried 10 times on at least 4 different occasions. It never works.

Try using the kies wireless app from the Google Play store, I had better luck with it than a USB connection.

Connecting it to Kies works just fine for me. What I hate, though, is that the software is painfully slow and there’s constant updates to it which makes things even worse..
