With Verizon clearly in the lead among wireless providers in US shores in terms of LTE coverage in our side of the world, it is only natural for the wireless provider to have a big LTE handset base to give its subscribers a wide array of choices when it comes to the handsets that will let them take full advantage of all the benefits brought about by the LTE network of the wireless provider. Currently, that handset base stands at 22, but Verizon updated it to 23 with the announcement of the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE.
The setting of the announcement is International CTIA Wireless 2012 where the wireless provider took center stage to unveil the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE. Sad to say, the wireless provider hasn’t provided an exact time frame as to when we can expect the handset to finally line up the shelves of the carrier but Verizon has confirmed that the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE is set to make its debut in the shelves in the coming weeks. In the same vein, there was no mention either of what price point we are supposed to expect for the handset. This is the successor to the highly-successful HTC Droid Incredible 2 handset offered for the longest time by the carrier and its target market is said to be those of our smartphone-crazed brethren who are not very crazy with their handsets having every imaginable top of the line specification.
This is not to say that the specs sheet of the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE is more applicable for an entry-level or a midrange handset for that matter. In fact, the components under the hood of the handset are very impressive that they are almost at par with the components we usually see in high-end devices available in the market today. And to give you the lowdown on the handset, we have the full details of its specs sheet coming right up for your reading pleasure.
We first became aware of the existence of the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE when it was still known as the HTC Fireball at the time the handset was still part of rumorland. The handset will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its operating system out of the box and this draws power from the QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset of the smartphone. The performance of the handset is expected to be smooth as a baby’s bottom and this can be attributed to the partnership of its dual-core 1.2 GHz Krait processor and full gigabyte of RAM. The onboard storage of the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE comes up to 8GB but a dedicated microSD card slot in the chassis of the handset enables a user to expand it to as much as 32GB. The display of the handset is fashioned from Gorilla Glass for scratch-resistance and it measures 4.0 inches diagonally. The display itself is of the SuperLCD type and has a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. The device will also pack Beats Audio integration while its camera department features an 8MP autofocus shooter with Led flash at its back panel while its front bezel is home to the handset’s 1.3MP front-facer.
