When talking about the Android ecosystem, the discussion would usually center on the latest iteration of the Google mobile operating system. As of the moment, the latest and greatest is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean which was preceded by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. As of the moment, most of the smartphones currently available in the market today are waiting for their chance to get a taste of the Android 4.1 refresh and the Motorola Droid Razr M is one of these devices.
The Motorola Droid Razr M was unveiled by Motorola a couple of months back, during the early parts of September to be exact, alongside the Motorola Droid Razr HD and Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD to complete the triumvirate of new Moto Droid Razr smartphones. Since then, the Motorola Droid Razr M has been available from Verizon but the handset only shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its operating system. However, Motorola was quick to point out at the time of the handset’s unveiling that an upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the handset is already in the pipe line and the only question is when it will land on the Motorola Droid Razr M.
However, there are a lot of doubters with regard to Motorola’s plans. After all, the manufacturer doesn’t have the cleanest track record when it came to software support for the handsets in its portfolio. However, it looks like the manufacturer is out to prove everybody wrong this time. Though nothing “life-changing” has happened so far, we already saw the unofficial Jelly Bean build for both the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD and Motorola Droid Razr HD get leaked a couple of days back.
This time around, the Motorola Droid Razr M gets to be the center of attention. If all goes well, we might even be seeing the official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update get rolled out to the handset in the next couple of weeks. This development came into play after news broke out that the manufacturer started sending out email invites to members of the Motorola Feedback Network to participate in a soak test for the Motorola Droid Razr M. Though there has been no confirmation that this soak test for the Motorola Droid Razr M concerns Jelly Bean, what else could it be, then?
Again, this is still unconfirmed and you guys are advised to take everything with a grain of salt but it never really hurt to hope that this really could be the Jelly Bean update for the Motorola Droid Razr M, right?
As for the Motorola Droid Razr M, the handset relies on its QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset to power its operations and this SoC gives the handset a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor and a full gigabyte of RAM. Storage space on the handset is a bit meager at just 8GB but shouldn’t be a problem because the handset comes with a dedicated microSD card slot for memory expansion purposes. In terms of its display, the Motorola Droid Razr M sports a 4.3-inch SuperAMOLED HD panel with a 960 x 540 pixels while its dual-shooter configuration boasts of a rear 8MP shooter and a front VGA video call and self-portrait shooter.
Buy the Motorola Droid Razr M at a reduced price tag now starting at 49.99.
