With still only about 3% of all Android devices powered by the Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system, the Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G delivers that OS update just in time for the holiday shopping season. The handset is currently priced at around $19 on contract at the Amazon Wireless store for their annual holiday sales event, a bargain basement price generally reserved for lower end and poorer performing smartphones. The Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G is anything but, and as it nears its one year anniversary in the US, the phone still delivers one of the thinnest profiles, one of the largest screens and one of the highest display resolutions of any smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus for Sprint is available for a reduced price coming in at under $20 now starting at $49.99.

Originally hitting the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system late last year just in time for the 2011 holiday shopping season, the Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G is currently holiday sale priced and bearing a gift or two of its own. The Jelly Bean 4.1 OS is still not found on many devices, and gives the Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G the gifts of a faster and smoother interface, less clutter on the Android home screens, better camera operation, and an improved Google Now contextual search and virtual personal assistant. The handset also gives the gift of speed and power, as it runs on the new 4G LTE system Sprint recently launched in the United States.

The Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G still delivers the most out-of-the-box, built-in data storage at 32 GB, and adds 1.0 GB of RAM system memory. The handset is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core central processor, with a separate GPU focusing exclusively on handling all your graphics requests. NFC (Near Field Communications) support is offered out-of-the-box, and popular applications YouTube and Picasa have been pre-installed.

The 4.65 inch multitouch, capacitive display is a Super AMOLED model, delivering a high-end resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels, offered at 316 pixels every inch. 16 million colors are present on that display, and up to 9.0 hours of talk time are delivered from a single battery charge. A built-in music player is present, and is capable of filtering your selections by album title, artist name or play list, and high resolution video recording is made possible with the rear facing 5.0 megapixel camcorder. That camera records video in 1,080P HD resolution, with a front facing chat cam offering video call support. Google is also present throughout the Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G, with Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail and Google Talk applications pre-installed.

You can purchase the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for a reduced price now starting at $49.99.
