Jelly Bean Present for Motorola Droid Razr MAXX HD

When Verizon announced that the Droid Razr MAXX HD 4G Android handset running on their 4G LTE system in the US would receive an over the air transfer to the Jelly Bean 4.1 Android OS a few weeks ago, not too many people were excited. That is because Big Red always seems to be the last wireless service provider to receive over the air Android operating system transfers. However, just a couple of days ago Motorola announced on their official blog that the Jelly Bean OS is indeed in the process of hitting all Droid Razr MAXX HD handsets.

They also mentioned that you will receive a notification when to download the Jelly Bean 4.1 update, and if you have not received it yet, you will in the next couple of weeks. Operating systems roll out in stages, so do not fret if you have not received the OS yet, it is on the way. The Droid Razr MAXX HD offers a wonderful security suite which includes a remote hard drive wipe accessible from any PC with an Internet connection, government level data encryption and a personal identification number locking system.

The handset also delivers NFC (Near Field Communications) support out-of-the-box, as well as the exclusive to Verizon NFL Mobile football application. Offered in white or black, the Droid Razr MAXX HD is super slim at 0.37 inches (9.3 mm), and provides waterproof protection both inside and out thanks to a special nanocoating. The Kevlar and aluminum body is back from previous rugged Droid Razr models, and the display is protected against every day scratches and chips with a Gorilla Glass screen.

That display runs a large 4.70 inches, and more than 16 million colors are delivered at a rate of 312 pixels every inch. Overall resolution runs 720 x 1,280 pixels, and the Super AMOLED screen is capable of video out through both microHDMI and DLNA connectivity options. The large 3,300 mA battery delivers a full 27.0 hours of streaming music, 13.0 hours of video playback, 10.0 hours of streaming video and a generous 21.0 hours of talk time from a single charge.

The hardware package is built around a dual core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 CPU, and 1.0 GB of LP DDR2 RAM memory is on board. The handset also delivers 32 GB of built-in data storage, with a microSD slot providing storage expansion capabilities. The chat cam built into the front of the Droid Razr MAXX HD is capable of placing video calls, and the 8.0 megapixel camcorder around back provides video capture at 1,080P HD resolution, and comes equipped with an LED flash and f/2.4 lens.
