Since getting unveiled back in the early parts of May, the Samsung Galaxy S III instantly shot up to the top of the smartphone leaderboards and has since then reigned over the smartphone market. This didn’t come as a surprise given the fact that the current Samsung flagship device packs an impressive specs sheet and brings even more impressive capabilities to the table.
In fact, the handset has overshadowed all the accomplishments of the Samsung Galaxy S II, its predecessor, and from all points of view, whatever the once flagship device of Samsung accomplished during its heydays pales in comparison to what was already achieved by the Samsung Galaxy S III in just a short period of time. When you come to think of it, a lot of the smartphone-buying population are already eagerly awaiting its release. When the Samsung Galaxy S III finally reached official status when it was announced by Samsung, preorders for the handset immediately poured in and Samsung even announced that preorders for the handset have already hit the 9 million mark in just a couple of days time after the Samsung Galaxy S III was announced.

In Canadian shores north of the border, the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S III in all the carriers releasing the handset got delayed by 7 days and this was confirmed by Samsung Canada itself. Instead of getting released last June 20, the handset had to settle for a June 27 release date in the shelves and even though it already is available north of the border, it is still very difficult to get your hands on an actual Samsung Galaxy S III unit.
This is also the case seen in US shores. The Samsung Galaxy S III was offered by all major carriers in our side of the world and every one of these carriers experienced delays one way or another in the launch of their respective version of the handset. The hardest hit is said to be Verizon which is yet to line its shelves up with units of the Samsung Galaxy S III. Although the carrier has already started shipping the handset as early as last week to those who preordered, those waiting to get their hands on the handset via the brick and mortar retail locations of the carrier will just have to wait some more.
Initially planned to launch on July 9, the handset got delayed one day at a time until an authorized Verizon reseller confirmed that the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy S III will hit the shelves on July 12. However, when the carrier started shipping the preorders of the handset last week, it was also rumored that the handset will land in Verizon stores come July 10. This would have been acceptable because the date is nearly at hand but another delay has been seen yet again.
As it is, the website of Verizon is now showing that its version of the Samsung Galaxy S III has just experienced another delay with the handset making its debut in the shelves of the carrier on July 12 as confirmed by what’s announced in its website. Hopefully, this is the last delay that eager Verizon subscribers have to endure because what good is a very powerful and very capable smartphone if you have no means of taking advantage of what it has to offer, right?
