At first, the HTC One arriving on Verizon was sheer rumor fueled by desire. Arguably the most powerful smartphone ever created, the HTC One has not yet made its way to Big Red. But as rumors began to grow, a possible Verizon HTC One 4G moved into the realm of likely possibility. And finally, it appears we have all the proof we need, except a verbal confirmation, to confirm a launch of the popular and best-selling HTC One 4G Android smartphone on Verizon’s “largest in the US” 4G network next month.
The HTC One 4G is available for a reduced sale price now starting at .
An internal Verizon document has been leaked to the World Wide Web that shows the HTC One launching on Verizon in August. Just in time for back-to-school smartphone shoppers, the HTC One 4G is shown in the above referenced Verizon document to launch on August 1. The information was intentionally sent anonymously to phone-centered website Phone Arena, and Verizon has neither confirmed nor denied this particular, late breaking piece of information.
However, internal memos from wireless providers which are intended to relay private info do sometimes change. That could mean that the HTC One will not launch on August 1, but the fact that Verizon documentation does show the existence of the HTC One on their 4G LTE network in the US is great news. Launch dates can be moved, and there can be delays of all kinds, but if you are a Verizon smartphone owner currently eligible for an upgrade, you may want to wait until August to have a shot at the big screen HTC One 4G.
Unlike rumors of Bigfoot and the Loch Ness monster, we now see that the HTC One does actually exist, and the Blogosphere rumor mill has pumped out some believable information. Named the Best Smartphone of 2012 at Computex and Mobile World Congress this year, the HTC One 4G has passed the 5 million units sold mark just recently. The Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system update is in effect, and will most probably be the OS on board the upcoming Verizon HTC One variant.
The phone arrived in the United States in April of this year, and features a 4.7 inch 1,080P Full HD display and Snapdragon 600 quad core central processor clocked at 1.7 GHz. The handset is slim at 0.37 inches (9.3 mm) in thickness, and the pixel density of 468 ppi is the highest ever found on a smartphone. The HTC ONE pumps out up to 16.0 hours of talk time after a full charge, a generous 32 GB of built-in storage is present, as is 2.0 GB of RAM system memory.
