Just a few months after the very popular golden iPhone 5S showed up at the Apple stores all over the country, it looks like there is another company looking to gain attention by painting its flagship a similar color. HTC followed the likes of Apple shortly after it launched the iPhone 5S and now it looks like LG is about to do the same thing. The new LG G2 “Gold Edition” was spotted online this week and even though it was found over in Taiwan, that does not mean that we will not be seeing it in the United States.
The next thing you are going to be wondering is the exact price of the device. According to the leaked website image from ePrice, the price is listed at the same as any other LG G2 model on the market today. To keep things affordable for customers, the company simply painted the back cover a golden color and according to the reports, all of the other hardware and software will be exactly the same. It looks like HTC is the only company to come forward with an actual gold edition when they launched the HTC One in 18k gold, but not many are willing to spend thousands of dollars for a smartphone you are not even going to want to use.
The smartphone is one of LG’s most popular selling smartphones and by looking at the spec sheet you will see exactly why that is. The LG G2 comes with a huge, 5.2-inch touch screen display with a 1080p HD resolution and scratch resistant glass to keep it in one piece while you use it. The phone is powered by the quad-core, Snapdragon 800 processor from Qualcomm which is clocked at 2.2Ghz and is one of the fastest on the market these days.
An Adreno 330 graphics processor and 2GB of RAM help keep things moving along quickly and the built in 32GB of internal memory should be plenty to get you started. The phone does not come with microSD support, but the 3000mAh battery should provide you with plenty of phone time each day depending on what you are doing with it. The back side features the 13MP camera with LED flash and F2.4 lens for taking better photos in low light situations. Support for NFC, DLNA, HDMI, infrared and Bluetooth 4.0 are also included.
