Leaked information about the rumored LG G3 have been coming and going for the last few weeks with the most recent touching base on the new user interface that is expected to arrive with the device sometime this year. The LG G3 is expected to be released and will replace the flagship G2 from last year, a device that has won back much of the market that LG has lost to companies like Samsung and HTC over the last few years. Now that Samsung announced the Galaxy S5 and HTC has the One (M8), it is time to talk about what LG has to offer.
The LG G2 is a top notch device with impressive specs, hardware and features, so the third generation is expected to be even better as a rule based on the history of releasing new smartphones. The LG G3 rumors suggest that it will come with a 5.5-inch qHD display which comes with a 1440×2560 resolution. The odds that it will be water resistant and dust proof are very good since that is what seems to be the new trend for high end devices that are already on the market.
On the back side of the device you are going to see a 13MP camera sensor that comes with image stabilization along with a useable front facing webcam of sorts. What processor is going to be equipped is still up in the air, but Qualcomm did announce the Snapdragon 805 processor, but MediaTek has one that is an octa-core model. That does not mean that LG won’t use one of its own processors inside the new device. The odds are good that it will be a quad-core model that sports at least 2GB of RAM to keep things flowing nice and smooth.
The user interface that is expected to arrive on top of the Android operating system is reportedly going to be an upgrade. One that will seem “flatter” than previous versions of the interface skin that LG has used on models in the past. The overall user experience is also going to be getting an overhaul to allow for more personalization of the device. Screenshots posted online show the differences in the new user interface compared to what users see today. The LG G3 is going to be powerful enough to take on the Galaxy S5 and the iPhone 6 from Apple this year.
