As of the moment, the LG Nexus 4 is already getting ready to hit the shelves and in just a matter of days will already be available for mass consumption. However, there are those lucky souls who already had a chance to get their hands on the latest Google flagship device and spend some quality time with the handset for a couple of days now. As it stands, those early units of the LG Nexus 4 are not running the final build of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the latest iteration of the Google mobile operating system.

Our sources whispered that the build of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean found in earlier versions of the LG Nexus 4 is not exactly the build Google had in mind so to rectify the situation, an update is now in the process of getting rolled out to the handset. This update is expected to bring a host of goodies and treats to the LG Nexus 4 but most notable among these is enabling features such as the lock screen widgets. In addition to that, the update will also enable multi-user support although this feature will only be available to tablets running this particular version of the Android operating system.

In addition to that, our sources intimated that this build of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean will be found on the LG Nexus 4 handsets that are now being prepared for shipment. What this means is that prospective buyers of the Google flagship device wouldn’t have to wait for the update to land but instead be able to take advantage of all the features outlined above once they get ahold of their LG Nexus 4 smartphone.

As for the LG Nexus 4, the handset is the current Google flagship device and it reached official status when it unveiled back in October. The handset looks like your typical Android-powered smartphone with its black paint job but being the flagship device that it is, the LG Nexus 4 looks to pack a solid build quality expected from a handset of its caliber. It has dimensions of 133.9 x 68.7 x 9.1 mm and it tips the scales at 139 grams.

Under the hood, the LG Nexus 4 boasts of very impressive components and its circuitry is built around its QualComm APQ8064 SnapDragon chipset. This SoC brings to the device a quad-core Krait processor clocked at 1.5 GHz that works in conjunction with a staggering 2GB of RAM to ensure that the performance of the handset is always snappy and buttery-smooth. In terms of storage space, the LG Nexus 4 will be made available in an 8GB and a 16GB version but the handset unfortunately doesn’t pack support for memory expansion. As for its display, the LG Nexus 4 sports a 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus capacitive multitouch panel with made from Corning’s famed Gorilla Glass 2 and has a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. Its camera department on the other hand boasts of a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.3MP video chat and self-portrait snapper.
