LG is said to be one manufacturer who has the habit of getting design inspiration from other manufacturers but the company was all-original when it comes to its LG Optimus 4X HD. In fact, the handset is said to be one of the best smartphones to be manufactured by LG. The LG Optimus 4X HD has got both the attractive looks and the muscle underneath the hood to make it go through all the tasks you throw at it with relative ease.
If there is however one thing that can be said against the LG Optimus 4X HD, it is that the handset is a relatively hard nut to crack in terms of getting it rooted. The handset was released two months ago and since then, developers have already attempted to crack its code but it’s only recently that they managed to obtain root access to the LG Optimus 4X HD because the handset finally succumbed to the efforts of the hardworking fellows of the developer communities.
Credit goes to the boys of XDA Developers for managing to do this but they all say that the approach to getting root access on the LG Optimus 4X HD is a bit more complicated than usual. If you happen to rock an LG Optimus 4X HD for your mobile weapon of choice and are interested in rooting your device, please be reminded that tinkering with your handset is the surest way to voiding your warranty or worse, turning it into an expensive paper weight. If you on the other hand are brave and adventurous and don’t care much about warranties and the other risks involved, just proceed with caution when attempting this and make sure that you really know what you are doing.
As for the LG Optimus 4X HD, the handset reached official status when it was announced back in February but it only managed to hit the shelves a couple of months later in June. As to be expected, the handset has that design aesthetics that makes it look like a slab of black plastic but at least, the LG Optimus 4X HD has got the great looks to go with it. The handset measures 132.4 x 68.1 x 8.9 mm and it tips the scales at 133 grams making it an average-sized smartphone with a massive 4.7-inch display.
Under the hood, the LG Optimus 4X HD already runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its operating system and this is powered by the handset’s NVIDIA Tegra 3 chipset. Similar to the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S III, the LG Optimus 4X HD has a quad-core processor in its internals and it is an ARM Cortex-A9 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. The handset also comes with 1GB of RAM while its storage space is pegged at 16GB. Its display on the other hand is a 4.7-inch True HD-IPS LCD panel with a 1280 x 720 resolution while its camera department includes a rear-facing 8MP shooter and a front 1.3MP video call camera.
