A reliable source whispered to the public that Verizon is planning to release a limited edition version of the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx but the handset will only be sold exclusively to employees of the wireless provider. Well, this is just basically the same Motorola Droid Razr Maxx that got released a couple of weeks back except from some minor design modifications that the limited edition went through.
The obvious difference that the LE Motorola Droid Razr Maxx has from the original version of the device is the unique black and red pattern of the Kevlar back panel of the handset. To make it more enticing, the words “Limited Edition” are emblazoned on the front panel of the device and each handset will come engraved with a unique four-digit number in its back panel.
Buy the original Motorola Droid Razr Maxx starting at $229.
This design overhaul makes the limited edition of the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx even more attractive than the original but as mentioned earlier, the catch is that these bad boys will only be offered to employees of Verizon. And to make us even more envious of these Verizon insiders, the limited edition of the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx will be sold to them for just $199 and this already includes a dock for the handset which makes the deal even sweeter.
According to our source, Verizon will start selling these bad boys this coming April, so if you want to get your hands on one of these babies, you can start cozying up to a Verizon employee or wait for the handset to get listed in eBay or Craigslist. While plotting your master plan on how you can get ahold of this limited edition Motorola Droid Razr Maxx, we have the specs sheet of the handset coming right up to keep you occupied.
The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx became official through an announcement at CES 2012 and it started hitting the shelves last month. The handset is said to be a doppelganger of the Motorola Droid Razr except that it is a bit thicker at its dimensions of 130.7 x 68.9 x 9 mm. Its catch weight on the other hand is pegged at 145 grams.
Under the hood, the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx is just as powerful as its sibling with the same Texas Instruments OMAP4430 chipset keeping everything in line in its internals. A dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor delivers 1.2 GHz of computing power to the handset while 1GB of RAM ensures that you have a snappy and buttery smooth performance in the handset. It comes with 16GB of internal memory in addition to its preinstalled 16GB microSD card for memory expansion. The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx sports a 4.3-inch SuperAMOLED Advanced capacitive multitouch display and its resolution is at 540 x 960 pixels. The camera department of the handset is also very impressive with its rear-facing 8MP shooter with autofocus and LED flash and a front-facing 1.3MP webcam.
If you can get your hands on the limited edition of the handset, you still can buy the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx starting at $229 with a two-year contract with Verizon.
