motoxWhen the Moto X arrived on the market it was made to be very popular due to the fact that you could customize the outer look of the smartphone and now that it is available on most of the mobile carriers in the United States, the Moto X is ready to be one of the best smartphones on the market.  Getting a custom back cover is one thing, but with the Moto Maker, users were able to customize a number of different things on their phone and that included engraved text if they wanted.

The Moto X is available on the T-Mobile market right now and according to the latest news reports, the smartphone is getting ready for the Android 4.4.2 KitKat software.  One online source claims that T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless could be the first carriers in the United States to offer the new software to those that have the Moto X.  Motorola confirmed last week that the Android 4.4.2 software was ready and the company said that it would be sent through the normal channels starting in Canada.  Motorola has already sent out invites for beta testing the software on the T-Mobile network.

Typically, Motorola would send out updates for forum members to try out and then they can go from that point as long as there aren’t any issues found by the beta testers.  The update that is coming could be a small one that will fix a bug or two, but Motorola has been focusing on the Android KitKat software so much lately that users can expect to see that very soon.  T-Mobile is not the only mobile carrier in the United States that is testing the new software.  Reports suggest that Verizon Wireless has also put the software up for beta test last week.

Most of the changes that are expected to be coming with the update include camera, apps and security, but there are rumors that Motorola could be bringing new touchless controls and fixes for some of the camera issues that many have been complaining about.  Motorola has been sending most of the changes to their apps to users through the Google Play Store, but there is no confirmation of that happening with this update.  More details should be rolling out this week regarding the Android 4.4.2 KitKat software update for the Moto X.
