motoxThe Moto X from Motorola has clearly been one of the most talked about smartphones the last couple months that is not made by Apple.  With all of the customization from the MotoMaker, the Moto X brings more color and flash to your smartphone in just a few easy steps.  Motorola offers 18 different color options for the smartphone and they are all free to choose so you can have a smartphone that is more unique than the next one.  Back covers made from Bamboo were also introduced, but they cost a close to $100 extra if you want one and they were not in stock that long.

Now it looks like Motorola is going to be offering more wooden back covers for the Moto X and this time around they will only cost you $25.  Starting on the 21st of January, Motorola users that want a custom back cover can get one in four different options for just $25 each.  When the Moto X first launched it was only customizable through AT&T, but now, all major mobile carriers offer the option.  The new options for wooden back covers include Walnut, Ebony and Teak.

If you were one of the many that bought the popular Bamboo option, Motorola is going to be sending you a couple for $75 credit since the option now is just $25.  The $25 cost is on top of the $99 that you will be paying for the Moto X without any contract.  The phone and options for back covers will be available everywhere next week.  The Moto X features a 4.7-inch AMOLED touch screen display with a 720p HD resolution.  The 10MP camera and 2GB of RAM might make up for the short comings in the dual core processor and lack of microSD card slot for memory expansion.

The phone comes with a battery that should provide about 12 to 13 hours of continuous usage depending on what you are doing with it.  The camera is a 10MP model and comes with features like auto focus, touch to focus, digital zoom, geo tagging, HDR mode and panorama mode.  The camera can record in 1080p HD at 60 frames per second.  The front side features a smaller, 2MP webcam that is perfect for video chatting and self portraits.
