The Motorola Atrix HD is similar physically to the Motorola Droid Razr and has the same extra tough Kevlar and aluminum backing. The handset debuted July 15 on the AT&T 4G LTE network, and was recently slashed in retail price to $49 on contract at select retailers. The Atrix HD delivers a larger than average screen size and high-end resolution, has been designed as splash-proof and has one of the fastest processors in the entire 4G smartphone marketplace. A high resolution camcorder graces the back of the Motorola Atrix HD 4G smartphone, and the handset is a quad-band GSM and quad-band HSPA global phone as well.

Arriving in typical smartphone fashion as a slim, rectangular slab, the Atrix HD measures 5.26 x 2.75 x 0.33 inches (133.5 x 69.9 x 8.4 mm) and weighs 4.94 ounces (140 g), making it one of the slimmest smartphone offerings available. The 4.5 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen delivers 16 million colors when creating visuals, and resolution runs to the high-end at 720 x 1,280 pixels. That represents a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch, at the extreme high end of the 4G smartphone marketplace. The MOTOBLUR UI with Live Widgets interfaces with Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) 4.0 operating system out-of-the-box, and the display delivers Motorola’s ColorBoost technology, protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass.
The 1,780 mA battery on board the Atrix HD 4G handset delivers above average talk time of 9.00 hours from a single charge, and standby time runs up to 8.5 days. Powering the handset is a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon microchip package that has at its core a dual core Krait processor which has been clocked at 1.5 GHz. The hardware package also includes 1.0 GB of RAM system memory and 8.0 GB of built-in, user accessible storage. A microSD slot is present and also supports microSDHC cards up to 32 GB in size.
On the back of the handset is an 8.0 megapixel camcorder, and up front is a 1.3 megapixel chat cam which can also be used for capturing portrait snapshots and placing video calls. That rear snapper provides an LED flash, autofocus, digital zoom and Geo tagging features, and captures video in 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (1,080p HD) at 30 frames per second. The Atrix HD comes equipped with a built-in music player which filters by album, artist and play list, has a YouTube video player built-in, and video out is accessible through the HDMI slot. Facebook and Picasa social networking applications have been pre-installed. You can buy the Motorola Atrix HD at a reduced price.
