droidmaxxofficialThe new Motorola X8 Mobile Computing System powering the Droid Maxx 4G which runs on Verizon is very battery efficient. It allows for a very slim form factor and extreme battery performance, pushing the extended life 3,500 mA cell to up to 48 hours of all-around battery power. That is a full two days of talk time, and that excellent run time accompanies a feature which Motorola says allows the handset to deliver an “always on” experience without sapping battery life.

You can pre-order the Motorola Droid Maxx at select online retailers starting at $199.99, which is a savings of up to $100 over carrier prices. The phone is scheduled to start shipping around 8/27.

That is offered thanks to the special processing core which handles voice input and other language chores. The Motorola Droid Maxx 4G responds to your voice commands even when the handset is in standby mode, and Motorola has beefed up the rear facing camcorder on the handset to a full 10.0 megapixels. The unique core package of processors running the phone includes a quad core graphics processor, 1.7 GHz dual core central processor and independent cores for language processing and contextual computing.

This is the same chip package on the Motorola Droid Ultra and Droid Mini smartphones which launched on August 23 alongside the Droid Maxx on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network. The handset currently retails for around $199 on contract, and delivers a large 720P touchscreen, substantial RAM memory, ample onboard data storage space and the Jelly Bean 4.2.2 Android operating system. NFC, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless connectivity options are all on board.

The advanced processing package on board the Motorola Droid Maxx allows the quad core graphics processor to also take care of certain operating system functions usually handled by a smartphone’s CPU. This frees up your central processor to handle more intense operations and applications, meaning more advanced widgets and less battery drain. Motorola has included a 5.0 inch True HD OLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, and special light and proximity sensors which also help preserve battery power.

A full 32 GB of data storage is present, and the handset is slim at 0.33 inches (8.5 mm). The durable DuPont Kevlar body which debuted with the original Motorola Droid Razr is on board as well, as is 2.0 GB of RAM system memory. The 10.0 megapixel camera on the back of the handset provides customization features, recording video in 1,080P HD resolution and at the rate of 60 frames per second. The Motorola Droid MAXX can be used as a mobile hotspot for multiple wireless devices. You can pre-order the Droid Maxx at a discounted price tag starting at just $199.99 at select online retailers.
