The Motorola Droid Razr HD launched on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network last year in October. The handset arrived around the same time as the Motorola Droid Razr MAXX HD, and was the first Droid Razr model from Motorola Mobility to deliver a true HD 720P display. The handset offers the Android Jelly Bean operating system, and comes with the Chrome for Android mobile web browser ready to surf the web out-of-the-box. The Droid Razr HD also delivers excellent battery life, a slim profile, large display and high resolution video capture.
Offered in your choice of black or white, the Droid Razr HD is a 4G capable handset that recently received a retail price reduction at the Amazon Wireless store, knocking the purchase price down to around $49 on contract. The handset is durable, offering a splash-proof nanocoating, scratch resistant Gorilla Glass, DuPont Kevlar fiber and aircraft grade aluminum framing. Also slim at 0.33 inches (8.4 mm), the Droid Razr HD delivers a large 4.7 inch display and resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels.
312 pixels are located over every inch of display space, and that Super AMOLED screen offers video out options through DLNA wireless connectivity. The extended life 2,530 mA battery on board the handset is 40% larger in capacity than the original Droid Razr 4G, and delivers up to 16.0 hours of talk time from a single charge. That battery charge also delivers 6.0 hours of surfing the web, 10.0 hours of video playback and an impressive 20.0 hours of music streaming while in Verizon LTE coverage areas.
The hardware package on the Droid Razr HD has at its cornerstone a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 system chip, and a dual core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU powers the handset. 1.0 GB of RAM memory and 16 GB of built-in storage are also present, as is a microSD slot for storage expansion and offboard data access. Popular applications YouTube and Picasa have been pre-installed, and the handset delivers a front facing VGA quality chat cam and rear mounted 8.0 megapixel camcorder in its camera combo.
That rear snapper on the Droid Razr HD 4G Android smartphone delivers autofocus, LED flash, touch to focus, Geo tagging, face detection and image stabilization, offering a built-in LED flash and f/2.4 lens. Video is recorded at a rate of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (1,080p HD resolution) and 30 frames per second, with the front facing chat cam also supporting video calls.
