The Motorola Droid Razr HD hit the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network in the United States in November of last year, and received an upgrade to the Android 4.1 operating system in December. The handset recently received a retail price reduction all the way down to $0.01 on contract at the Amazon Wireless store online, and just this week Verizon approved a software update for the phone. Build #9.16.6 is slowly trickling out to Motorola Droid Razr HD smartphone owners over the air, delivering several bug fixes and feature enhancements.
The Droid Razr HD is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.01.
Totaling 96 MB, the Droid Razr HD software upgrade further increases the security conscious profile of the handset through Google Security Patches. Data roaming has been improved, as has Wi-Fi connectivity. New wallpaper options have been added for your personalization, and using the 8.0 megapixel camcorder on the back of the Droid Razr HD now offers better low light functionality, enhanced notifications and improved touch to focus camera operation. Display resolution when streaming video has also been improved through increased pixelation.
The Droid Razr MAXX HD arrives as the first Droid Razr smartphone to deliver a 720P screen and large 4.70 inch display. The handset is NFC capable out-of-the-box, and offered in your choice of black or white. In the tradition of previous Droid Razr smartphones, the phone is slim at 0.33 (8.4 mm) in thickness, and delivers Corning Gorilla Glass scratch resistance and a special waterproof nanocoating.
A rugged aircraft grade aluminum framing surrounds the display on the Droid Razr HD, and the back plate is made of durable DuPont Kevlar fiber. The 4.70 inch Super AMOLED display delivers a pixel density of 312 pixels per inch, for an overall resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels. Light and proximity sensors have been built into the screen to help stretch battery life, and the result is 16.0 hours of talk time from a full charge on the 2,530 mA battery. That cell is approximately 42% larger than the one found on the original Droid Razr 4G.
The larger battery and power conservation efforts also deliver a full 20.0 hours of streaming music, 10.0 hours of video playback or 6.0 hours of surfing the web with 4G LTE speeds. Standby battery power lasts approximately 11.9 days, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 system chip powers the handset. The CPU is a dual core 1.5 GHz chip, 1.0 GB of RAM memory is on board, as is 16 GB of built-in data storage. Video is captured at 1,080P HD resolution via the 8.0 megapixel camcorder mentioned earlier, and a microSD slot provides storage expansion capability.
You can purchase the Droid Razr HD at a discounted price tag now starting at $0.01.
