The Motorola Droid Razr M 4G Android smartphone is proof that a high resolution 4G handset with a large screen and excellent battery performance does not have to be large and heavy. In the past most smartphones that delivered all-day performance were extremely heavy due to the oversized cell on board. But evidently Motorola has discovered something that other smartphone manufacturers have not. Their Droid Razr MAXX was the first handset to deliver 20+ hours of talk time from a single charge, and that long life battery performance in a slim and compact handset exists with the Droid Razr M 4G.

The popular Motorola Droid Razr M is available for a reduced price at select authorized online retailers now starting at 49.99.

By stretching the display from edge to edge with almost a nonexistent bezel, Motorola was able to create a phone that is smaller and lighter than most 4G smartphones with a 4.30 inch display. Available in either black or white, and released September 10 on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the US, the Motorola Droid Razr M measures 4.82 x 2.40 x 0.33 inches (122.5 x 60.9 x 8.3 mm). Light at 4.44 ounces (126 g), the handset offers the Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 operating system out-of-the-box. Currently Verizon is in the process of delivering the Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system update to the Droid Razr M 4G.

That large 4.30 inch display contains more than 16 million different colors in its visual imagery, and delivers an above average 256 pixels every inch. That gives the Super AMOLED Advanced screen an overall resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, and standard capacitive, multitouch gestures are used to navigate the handset. The Droid Razr M 4G provides auto brightness adjustment through the built-in light sensor, and a proximity sensor helps conserve battery life by dimming the display when the handset is lifted to your face to make or receive a call. A layer of splashguard nanocoating protects the interior and exterior components, and DLNA video out connectivity is on board.

The 2,000 mA battery squeezes out a full 20.0 hours of talk time from a single charge, and standby time runs more than two full weeks. The system chip on board is a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 model, and an Adreno 225 graphics processor joins a dual core 1.5 GHz Krait central processor in that chip package. The Droid Razr M contains 1.0 gigabyte of RAM memory, and 8.0 GB of built-in data storage. The handset allows for an external storage boost by supporting microSD and microSDHC memory cards up to 32 GB in size.

The Droid Razr M can function as a Wi-Fi mobile hotspot for multiple wireless devices, and Near Field Communications (NFC) support is offered out-of-the-box. Video calls can be made on the front facing chat cam, and video recording in 1,080P HD resolution is offered by the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder. Google purchased Motorola Mobility this year, so it is not surprising that Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk and Picasa integration are present in the Motorola Droid Razr M 4G.

You can purchase the Motorola Droid Razr M for a reduced price tag now starting at 49.99.
