Motorola designers created the Droid Razr M 4G Android smartphone to be thin and light, yet to also deliver all day battery power, a large display and 4G LTE capability. The handset runs on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the US, and offers a full 20.0 hours of talk time from a single battery charge. The global handset is also able to access networks in more than 205 countries around the world, and is compatible with GSM and 3G networks. This is the lightest, thinnest and smallest phone in the refreshed Droid Razr smartphone lineup, and is more compact and lightweight than other 4G phones with the same size 4.3 inch screen.
Currently the handset is offered at the nearly free retail price of one penny on contract at select retailers like the Amazon Wireless store online, and it delivers the Chrome for Android mobile web browser and NFC wireless support out-of-the-box. Android’s 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system is also on board, and the Verizon Visual Voice Mail service allows you to save up to 40 messages for 40 days, make 10 different voice greetings based on caller ID, and access your messages without having to wait through voice instructions, or work your way through previous messages.
And though the handset is crafted out of aircraft grade aluminum framing and a DuPont Kevlar back plate with a protective layer of scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass, it is still lightweight. The Droid Razr M 4G weighs just 4.44 ounces (126 g), and is small and compact comparably at 4.82 x 2.40 x 0.33 inches (122.5 x 60.9 x 8.3 mm). The 4.3 inch qHD Super AMOLED display offers a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels delivered at 256 pixels per inch, and more than 16 million separate colors are used to render visual displays.
Video out options are offered on the Droid Razr M, and a Bluetooth Stereo music player joins a pre-installed YouTube video player in the handset’s multimedia packet. A special nanocoating gives the handset a splash-proof layer of protection inside and out, and a dual core 1.5 GHz CPU is the anchor to the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 system chip that powers the phone.
A microSD slot accentuates the 8.0 GB of internal storage, and 1.0 GB of RAM has been installed. 1,080P HD resolution video recording is provided by the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder. There is also a front facing chat cam with video call support, and the rear snapper comes equipped with an LED flash and autofocus, touch to focus, face detection and image stabilization features.
