Displays on smartphones have been getting bigger and bigger for the last couple of years. And while huge displays are nice, they can make phones bulky and heavy. Motorola found a solution and created the Droid Razr M 4G Android smartphone, which Amazon has priced for $0.01 on contract during their Cyber Monday Deals Week. By extending the display from edge to edge and corner to corner on the front of the handset, Motorola has squeezed a large high-resolution 4.3 inch display onto the smallest possible sized smartphone.
The Motorola Droid Razr M is available for a reduced price tag now starting at $49.99.
Offered in your choice of black or white and released September 10 on the Verizon Wireless network in the US, the handset measures 4.82 x 2.40 x 0.33 inches (122.5 x 60.9 x 8.3 mm) and weighs 4.44 ounces (126 g). This is significantly smaller and lighter than the typical mobile handset with a 4.3 inch display, but the Droid Razr M 4G still delivers high-end features and performance along with the latest Android operating system, version 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.
The Chrome for Android web browser is on board, and the Droid Razr M delivers Near Field Communications (NFC) wireless support out-of-the-box. The 4.3 inch qHD Super AMOLED screen offers a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels and more than 16 million colors are present, delivered at a rate of 256 pixels per inch. Corning adds a layer of Gorilla Glass to give the Droid Razr M durable scratch resistance, and a special splash-proof nanocoating protects both the exterior and interior of the handset.
In the long-life Droid Razr tradition, 20.0 hours of talk time are delivered from a single charge of the handset’s 2,000 mA battery. Standby battery power runs roughly 17.0 days, and Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk and Picasa applications have been pre-installed. The handset runs on a dual core 1.5 GHz Krait central processor, with an Adreno 225 GPU handling all graphics processing. 1.0 GB of RAM memory is built-in as is 8.0 GB of data storage, which can be accentuated by the microSD slot which accepts cards up to 32 GB in size.
A VGA quality chat cam joins an 8.0 megapixel camcorder in the camera combo on board the Droid Razr M 4G. That rear facing camcorder delivers an LED flash, autofocus, touch to focus, face detection and other features, and records video in 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (1,080p HD resolution). A built-in music player is present as is Bluetooth 4.0 EDR, and the Motorola Droid Razr M4G Android smartphone can function as a central Wi-Fi hotspot for multiple wireless devices.
You can purchase the Motorola Droid Razr M for a reduced price now starting at $49.99.
