The Motorola Droid Razr MAXX 4G Android smartphone arrived on January 26 this year basically as a thicker twin to its sibling, the Motorola Droid Razr 4G. The Droid Razr 4G handset was designed as the skinniest smartphone ever built, but battery life was not the greatest due to that ultra-thin profile. Motorola designers kept all the customer pleasing features of the Droid Razr 4G, included some battery conserving features, and added an 85% larger battery than that found on the skinny Droid Razr. The result is the longest talk time and video playback offered from a single charge of any smartphone.

Debuting on the Verizon 4G LTE network which is 10 times faster than their 3G platform, the splash resistant, Kevlar and aluminum Droid Razr MAXX 4G smartphone delivers simultaneous voice and data access. While the oversized 3,300 mA battery delivers 21.5 hours of talk time or 15 hours of video playback from a single charge, the handset is still super skinny. Measuring only 0.35 inches (8.99 mm) in thickness, the Droid Razr MAXX 4G is one of the slimmer 4G smartphones available.
The display size runs 4.30 inches, and pixel density is delivered at 256 pixels per inch, for an overall display resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. That Super AMOLED Advanced screen contains light and proximity sensors for auto brightness adjustment and battery conservation, 16 million colors are used to render visuals, and a protective layer of Corning Gorilla Glass overlays the screen.
In the hardware package on board the Motorola Droid Razr MAXX 4G a Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 microchip package centers around a dual core 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 processor. Also on board is a PowerVR SGX540 GPU that focuses specifically on graphics processing, and the handset delivers the most out-of-the-box data storage at 32 GB. That is comprised of 16 GB of built-in storage and a 16 GB removable microSD card, and 1.0 GB of RAM system memory is also present. Video out is delivered through a wired microHDMI slot or wireless DLNA access.
On the back of the handset is integrated an 8.0 megapixel camcorder which provides video capture at 1,080P HD. Up front is a 1.3 megapixel chat cam, offering portrait snapshot and video call support. A pre-installed YouTube video player joins a built-in music player in the multimedia package on board the Droid Razr MAXX, and that music player supports all major file formats, filtering by album, artist or play list. The handset currently retails for $99 on contract, and is exclusive to the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system. Buy the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx starting at $99.
