First arriving in late January of this year, the Motorola Droid Razr MAXX 4G copycatted all the admirable features, high end software and hardware owned by its older sibling, the Motorola Droid Razr 4G. But Motorola added an 85% larger, extended life battery, and the 3,300 mA cell on board the Droid Razr MAXX 4G delivers the best battery performance of any smartphone. 21.5 hours of talk time or 15.0 hours of video playback can be achieved from a single charge of the Droid Razr MAXX, and the handset also delivers the maximum amount of out-of-the-box, user accessible data storage. 16 GB of data storage are built into the handset, and a removable 16 GB microSD card is included.

Verizon recently lowered the price tag of the Droid Razr MAXX to $99 with a standard new two-year activation and data agreement at select retailers. The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network is the exclusive home to the Droid Razr MAXX 4G Android smartphone, and even with the addition of the much larger battery the handset is still thin, at only 0.35 inches (8.9 mm). The Kevlar and aluminum body offers splash-proof protection, and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass also protects the display against chipping and scratching, while reducing glare.
The 4.30 inch Super AMOLED display found on the Droid Razr Maxx supports standard capacitive, multitouch gestures, and delivers a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, at 256 pixels every inch. The on board light sensor automatically adjusts the screen for the best possible display depending on the amount of ambient light present, and a built-in proximity sensor conserves battery life by powering down the display when you lift the handset to your face to make or receive a call.
Powering the Droid Razr MAXX is a Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 package of microchips, with a dual core 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 CPU handling all main processing duties, and a separate PowerVR SGX540 GPU focusing on all graphics processing. The handset comes with 1.0 GB of RAM system memory, and microSD or microSDHC cards up to 32 GB are supported. Around the back of the Droid Razr MAXX 4G is an 8.0 megapixel camcorder with LED flash, autofocus and image stabilizing features, and that rear snapper can record video in 1,080P HD resolution. The handset also features a front facing 1.3 megapixel chat cam, and that device is capable of capturing portrait snapshots and providing video call capabilities.
