It launched on October 18 of last year on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the United States, and offers one of the largest high resolution screens found on any smartphone. Battery life is accentuated from battery power conserving features like built-in light and proximity sensors, and that helps deliver an incredible 27.0 hours of streaming music, 13.0 hours of video playback or 10.0 hours of streaming video while in Verizon 4G LTE coverage zones. A full 15.5 days of battery standby power is also present.

The handset is also secure, with a combination remote hard drive wipe, personal identification number lock and government grade data encryption software package. Delivering NFC wireless support out-of-the-box, the Droid Razr MAXX HD also offers the Verizon exclusive NFL Mobile National Football League application just in time for playoff season. You can mirror whatever is currently on your display to an exterior monitor or HDTV via either wireless DLNA or wired microHDMI video out options.

The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 microchip set, built around a dual core 1.5 GHz CPU. An Adreno 225 GPU is on board, as is 1.0 GB of LP DDR2 RAM memory and 32 GB of built-in data storage. A microSD slot provides storage expansion, YouTube and Picasa applications are pre-installed, as is the Chrome for Android web browser. 1,080P HD resolution video recording is delivered by the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder, and a front facing chat cam provides video call support.
