The Motorola Droid Razr MAXX HD is a 4G Android smartphone that offers extreme battery performance. It also delivers a large high-resolution screen, security minded software package, double the amount of onboard storage found in the typical 4G smartphone, and a speedy, dual core processor. The handset arrived on October 18 of last year on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system, and is available in either black or white.
The Droid Razr Maxx HD is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $99.99.
The handset also delivers arguably the best battery performance of any 4G smartphone. Still skinny at 0.37 inches (9.3 mm) but offering an extended life, oversized battery, the Droid Razr MAXX HD is capable of very generous performances like 21.0 hours of talk time or 27.0 hours of streaming music from a single charge. The 3,300 mA battery also provides a full 15.5 days of standby battery power, 10.0 hours of single charge streaming video and 13.0 hours of single charge video playback.
The handset also protects your sensitive personal data and information, allowing you to limit access with a personal identification number lock. Government grade data encryption is automatically applied to your calendar, personal contacts and e-mail, and the built-in remote wipe application lets you erase the handset’s hard drive from a remote computer in case it is ever lost or stolen. The exterior of the handset is also protected just as thoroughly.
A layer of Corning Gorilla Glass gives the display scratch resistance, the Kevlar and aluminum construction make for a durable body, and waterproof splash protection is provided by a special nanocoating. The handset currently retails for around $199 on contract at select retailers like the Amazon Wireless store online, and the Droid Razr MAXX HD delivers a large 4.70 inch Super AMOLED display. That screen offers a resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels, with video out delivered by your choice of DLNA or microHDMI video out options.
The rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder records video at a rate of 1,080P HD resolution and 30 frames per second, with the front facing chat cam offering video call functionality. The hardware package includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 suite of microchips that is built around a dual core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU, and an Adreno 225 GPU is also present. 1.0 GB of LP DDR2 RAM is on board, as is 32 GB of built-in data storage. The Motorola Droid Razr MAXX HD for Verizon also offers a microSD slot for storage expansion.
