Also launching some security features not found on all previous Droid Razr models, the Droid Razr MAXX HD delivers a remote hard drive wipe feature you can employ if your handset is ever lost or stolen. The handset is available in either black or white, and delivers NFC (Near Field Communications) wireless connectivity options out-of-the-box.
Slim at 0.37 inches (9.3 mm) the Droid Razr Maxx HD handset is also durable, with the familiar DuPont Kevlar and aircraft grade aluminum body design returning from previous Droid Razr models. The handset is also splashproof as were previous Droid Razr editions, and a protective layer of Corning Gorilla Glass is back once again, offering scratch resistance. The large 4.70 inch Super AMOLED screen delivers 16 million colors at a rate of 312 pixels per inch, for an overall screen resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels. Light and proximity sensors help add to the extreme battery performance, and DLNA and microHDMI video out options are present.
You can achieve 21.0 hours of talk time or 13 hours of video playback from a single charge of the oversized 3,300 mA battery, and the Droid Razr MAXX HD is powered by a speedy dual core 1.5 GHz Krait central processor. The handset offers 32 GB of built-in storage, 1.0 GB of LP DDR2 RAM system memory, and a microSD slot for storage expansion. YouTube and Picasa applications have been pre-installed, and the Droid Razr MAXX HD contains a rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder for 1,080P HD video capture. There is also a front facing chat cam, which provides video call support and portrait snapshot capture.
