The Motorola Droid Razr MAXX HD is the culmination of a lot of great features that were delivered on previous Droid Razr models. 4G LTE connectivity on the Verizon Wireless network in the US is present, and the handset bears the slim motif of the original Droid Razr 4G. The largest high resolution screen ever built by Motorola for a smartphone has returned from the Droid Razr HD, and the extreme battery performance of the Motorola Droid Razr MAXX 4G Android smartphone is also present.

The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD is available for a reduced price tag at select online retailers now starting at $174.99.

The handset launched on October 18, and delivers a remote hard drive wipe, personal identification number lock and government grade data encryption which protects your sensitive personal information, e-mail, calendar and contacts. The handset also delivers, exclusive to Verizon, the NFL Mobile application just in time for football season. Offered in your choice of black or white, the handset also delivers NFC (Near Field Communications) access to applications like Google Wallet and Android Beam.

The Motorola Droid Razr MAXX HD can function as a mobile hotspot for multiple wireless devices, and is slim at 0.37 inches (9.3 mm). The Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) 4.0 operating system is present, with Motorola promising an upgrade to Jelly Bean 4.1 by the end of the year. The Droid Razr MAXX HD is rugged, built with Kevlar and aluminum, and also offers scratch resistance with a Corning Gorilla Glass display overlay. A special nanocoating also lends the handset waterproof protection.

The 4.70 inch display on the Droid Razr Maxx HD delivers a high-end resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels, and more than 16 million colors are present in visual displays. Pixel density is one of the highest found on any mobile product at 312 pixels per inch, and that Super AMOLED display contains light and proximity sensors. DLNA and microHDMI video out options are present, and the oversized, extended life 3,300 mA battery delivers 15.5 days of standby battery power.

That battery also offers a very generous 21.0 hours of talk time or 13.0 hours of video playback when in Verizon 4G LTE coverage areas. A dual core 1.5 GHz central processor joins an Adreno 225 GPU in the hardware package on board the Droid Razr MAXX HD, and the handset offers 1.0 GB of LP DDR2 RAM memory and 32 GB of data storage built-in. The built-in microSD slot provides storage expansion, with a rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder offering video recording in 1,080P HD. A front facing 1.3 megapixel chat cam is also present in the camera combo, and can be used to place video calls.
