droidrazrmaxxhdWith the pervasiveness of wireless devices and the growing inclination of smartphone shoppers to use their handsets for business, security can be an issue. And not all smartphones deliver more than the bare minimum of security features, if any at all. The Motorola Droid Razr MAXX HD is a rugged handset not just physically, but virtually as well. The Android phone comes packed with a security suite of features that perfectly complements the built-in characteristics that make this a durable handset.

Powered by the Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system, the Droid Razr MAXX HD arrives out-of-the-box with pre-installed security features like a remote hard drive wipe. Basically, this allows you to access your handset from any computer with an Internet connection, and you can remotely wipe your hard drive clean, protecting your sensitive personal and business information. This is an effective tool against identity and data thieves should your handset ever become lost or stolen.

Launched last October on the Verizon 4G LTE system in the US, Motorola’s Droid Razr MAXX HD also offers a personal identification number locking system. This optional safety measure helps you limit access to your handset, and the Android smartphone also provides government level data encryption which can be applied to any calendars, e-mail and contact information you have stored on your phone. As is the case with previous Droid Razr models, Motorola Mobility has constructed the Droid Razr MAXX HD with physical layers of protection as well.

A special splash-proof nanocoating protects both the inside and exterior of the handset against incidental liquid contact, and the back of the phone is made of DuPont Kevlar. Surrounding the display is a frame of aircraft grade aluminum, and the large 4.70 inch touchscreen is protected against everyday abuse by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. Exclusive to Verizon’s 4G LTE system in the United States, the Razr MAXX HD is also compatible with 3G and GSM networks in more than 205 countries around the world.

The Droid Razr MAXX HD is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual core processor, and is slim at 0.37 inches (9.3 mm). The NFC capable handset offers a display resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels, delivering more than 16 million different colors at the rate of 312 pixels per inch. Battery performance is excellent, with up to 21.0 hours of talk time, 10.0 hours of streaming video and 27.0 hours of streaming music over Verizon’s LTE network capable from a full battery charge. Video recording resolution is 1,080P HD with the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder.
