The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system is the home of the Droid Razr MAXX 4G Android smartphone, and for whatever reason Verizon is usually the latest to get Android operating system upgrades. To clear the air on a possible Jelly Bean 4.1 upgrade for the Droid Razr MAXX 4G, as well as other handsets, Motorola recently built a website that promises Jelly Bean 4.1 sometime this year for all phones released in late 2011 or later, with one important caveat. They go on to state that should they in the future decide not to upload Jelly Bean to your Motorola handset, they will issue you $100 provided in the form of a gift card, carrier credit or other cash equivalent at their discretion.
The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx is on sale now starting at 69.99.
Nowhere on the website does Motorola provide delivery dates for their particular handsets, so there is no hard answer as to when Motorola Droid Razr MAXX owners will receive either the Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system or the $100 credit. Currently the handset delivers the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system, making the Razr MAXX one of the first 4G LTE handsets on the Verizon Wireless network that supports voice and data service in more than 220 countries. And the new voice input engine takes dictation in real time. You can talk continuously, pause, and speak punctuation for emails, texts and more.
The Motorola Droid Razr MAXX 4G also delivers marathon battery performance on a single charge. You can host a nonstop 21.5 hour conference call, browse the web for 7.0 straight hours, or watch movies for 15.0 hours uninterrupted. And the new Face Unlock screen lock option allows access to your handset by recognizing your face, due to the front facing chat cam that works with state-of-the-art facial recognition technology. The the handset is still super thin at 0.35 inches (8.9 mm).
The 4.30 inch display offers a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, delivered at 256 pixels per. That Super AMOLED Advanced screen renders visuals in more than 16 million colors, and is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. The on board Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 microchip package on board is built around a dual core 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 central processor, and the handset delivers the most out-of-the-box data storage with 16 GB built in and a removable 16 GB microSD card that ships with the handset. An 8.0 megapixel camcorder is built into the back of the handset, and delivers video capture at 1,080P HD resolution.

Motorola and Verizon , let’s skip the song and dance and give me the JB update for my Maxx. So what if the HD versions are coming, you got my money already (out a pocket). This really is starting to look like if you want to get a upgrade you have to buy a new phone every year…….not good when costs are so high!

As you said, they already got your money. They don’t care about past sales, just make future sales.
