When the Motorola Droid Razr MAXX 4G Android smartphone came out on January 26 of this year, it landed on the 4G LTE Verizon Wireless system. Basically a thicker twin of the Motorola Droid Razr that was designed as the skinniest handset of all time, adding an 85% larger battery gave the Droid Razr MAXX the most run time of any smartphone at 21.5 hours after a single charge of the 3,300 mA cell. Video playback also leads the smartphone marketplace, at 15 hours. Standby time sits at 16 days, but even with that bigger battery, the handset is still slimmer than most, with only a 0.35 inch (8.99 mm) profile.

And with a fast processor, high pixel density, 1.0 GB of RAM memory and high definition video capture, the Droid Razr MAXX 4G offers many of the features Android smartphone shoppers are looking for. But the handset can also port with optional Motorola accessories and transform into a 10.1 or 14 inch laptop, a desktop PC, a high definition multimedia center and hands-free in car GPS system.

The Motorola Lapdock 100 and Lapdock 500 accessories turn the Droid Razr MAXX into 10.1 inch or 14.0 inch laptops with full keyboard and track pad. They even add 5 to 7 hours of battery life to the 4G-best battery performance of the handset, and are lighter and smaller than the average laptop. The Motorola HD Station and multimedia center adds 3 USB slots and an HDMI port for attaching a monitor, keyboard, mouse and other peripherals. And the HDMI out access makes viewing the display on a large screen HDTV or monitor simple.

The Droid Razr MAXX Vehicle Navigation Dock with rapid charger provides hands-free GPS navigation and mounts to your dash or windshield, and comes with 2 USB slots. Voice commands and voice driven Google search are supported, you can make and take calls hands-free, and when you snap your Razr MAXX in place, the screen automatically changes to the vehicle apps home screen.

The 4.3 inch screen has a pixel density of 256 pixels per inch, for overall display resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, and is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. A dual core 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 CPU and graphics dedicated PowerVR SGX540 GPU are on board, and the Razr MAXX provides 16 GB of built-in storage, as well as a removable 16 GB microSD card. The rear facing 8.0 MP camcorder captures video in 1,080P HD resolution, and there is a chat cam up front.  Buy the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx starting at $99.
