The Motorola Droid Razr MAXX 4G Android smartphone arrived on January 26 of this year with the longest talk time of any 4G handset. And since that time, though dozens of 4G smartphones have been released, not one comes anywhere close to the 21.5 hours of talk time the 3,300 mA battery on the Droid Razr MAXX provides from a single charge. The handset also delivers 15 straight hours of video viewing, and 16 days standby time. Exclusive to the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network, the Droid Razr MAXX offers the same high end feature set on the Motorola Droid Razr, but comes with an extended life battery and 4G-best battery performance.

However, in keeping with the design idea of the skinny Motorola Droid Razr, the handset is still impossibly thin, at only 0.35 inches (8.99 mm). The DuPont Kevlar and aluminum chassis gives the Droid Razr MAXX a solid look and feel, and Motorola designed the handset with a protective layer of water repellent nanoparticles that gives the phone it’s splash-proof trait. Also providing another layer of protection is the Corning Gorilla Glass screen overlay, which offers scratch resistance and glare reduction.
In a field where success is copied regularly, it is a wonder other handset manufacturers are not focusing on improving battery life after seeing the incredible sales success and popularity enjoyed by the Motorola Droid Razr MAXX smartphone. The singular most important trait smartphones enjoy is portability after all. And offering almost 3 times the 4G average of 8.0 hours of talk time from a single charge makes the Droid Razr MAXX the most portable smartphone in the marketplace. As long as Motorola’s competitors continue to focus on screen size, processor speed and other non-battery characteristics, the Droid Razr MAXX will continue to be the predominant handset in 4G battery performance.
However, that is not the only attractive feature offered by the Droid Razr MAXX. The 4.30 inch Super AMOLED screen offers 540 x 960 pixel resolution, and a speedy dual core 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 CPU. A separate PowerVR SGX540 chip is dedicated solely to graphics handling, and it joins the CPU as part of a Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 microchip package. A full 1.0 GB of RAM memory is present in the hardware package, as is a 4G-best 32 GB of out-of-the-box, user accessible storage.
That storage is comprised of 16 GB built into the handset, and a 16 GB microSD card that ships with the phone. An 8.0 megapixel camcorder provides video capture at 1080P HD resolution, and the front facing 1.3 megapixel chat cam also provides video call functionality. Hi,
What settings maximize the battery life on the Droid Razr? I am planning a 8-week hike and will hit a town (recharging opportunity) every week or so. I will mostly be using the camera, not the phone for the times between recharging.
Thanks.
