The Droid Razr MAXX 4G Android smartphone is splash resistant, uses DuPont Kevlar and aircraft grade aluminum with a protective layer of Gorilla Glass, delivers the best out-of-the-box talk time of any 4G LTE device, and does it all in a skinny design. The handset is also extremely versatile, with the ability to function as a 10 or 14 inch laptop, multimedia hub, desktop PC and in-vehicle GPS hands-free navigation device. The Razr MAXX 4G arrived on January 26 on the Verizon wireless 4G LTE system in the United States, and offer simultaneous voice and data access.

The handset runs on the Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) 4.0 operating system and has a large 4.30 inch Super AMOLED Advanced display. Screen resolution runs 540 x 960 pixels delivered at 256 pixels per inch, and standard capacitive, multitouch gestures are used to navigate the device. Light and proximity sensors are built-in, and the handset delivers a 4G-best talk time of 21.5 hours with an alternate 15.0 hours of video playback from a single charge of its oversized 3,300 mA battery. Even with that huge cell the handset is slim at only 0.35 inches (8.99 mm) in thickness.
And aside from delivering 4G LTE speeds on the Verizon network which RootMetrics calls the fastest and most reliable in the United States, the Droid Razr MAXX can use its Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 microchip package, dual core 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 central processor and PowerVR SGX540 GPU as the centerpiece for optional laptop transforming accessories. The Lapdock 100 couples with the Droid Razr MAXX to create a 10 inch laptop complete with full keyboard and track pad, and even adds 5.0 hours of run time. The optional Lapdock 500 accessory creates a 14 inch laptop complete with WebCam and additional 7.0 hours of run time.

The handset can also couple with Motorola’s HD Station, which provides three USB ports and an HDMI outlet and cable. That allows you to create a desktop PC by hooking up a keyboard, speakers, display and mouse, or use the handset as a multimedia hub. And the Motorola Vehicle Navigation Dock with rapid charger mounts to your dash or windshield, allowing you to navigate hands-free with voice commands and searches. You can also listen to your navigation instructions turn by turn, and with the free Car Finder App you will never lose your car in a crowded parking lot.
The Motorola Droid Razr MAXX comes with 1.0 GB of RAM system memory built in, 16 GB of built-in data storage, and ships with a 16 GB microSD card, delivering the most out-of-the-box data storage at 32 GB. A microSD slot is provided for storage expansion, and the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder provides video capture at 1,080P HD resolution. The 1.3 megapixel chat cam facing the user provides video call support, and a YouTube video player accompanies a built-in music player in the multimedia package on board the Droid Razr MAXX 4G.
