motorolaTwitter has been buzzing all day long with questions that have been answered by Motorola regarding things like the Lenovo deal and other high end devices that could come to the United States this year.  The Motorola Mobility was just sold by Google to Lenovo a few weeks ago and many were not sure what that was going to mean for the company that just started getting back into the smartphone game.  So, Motorola took to Twitter to answer some questions that customers had about the deal, the Moto X and the Moto Maker to be specific.

The company did confirm that there will be a replacement smartphone for the Moto X coming out sometime this summer.  The Moto X will also be expanded into more countries before that as the company looks to move into emerging markets.  The Moto X is expected to arrive in India and Australia in the “next few weeks” according to Motorola.  Rumors suggested that options for the Moto Maker would be expanding and that was confirmed as well.  Motorola said the Moto Maker will be available in Europe and Mexico during the second quarter of this year.

The Lenovo deal is still something that is shaded since it was just completed a little while ago, so the company did not mention too much about it.  Motorola did confirm they will be focusing on Android and that is because if it didn’t the company would “have to compromise if we spread across ecosystems”.  They also mentioned that there is a big opportunity for them in China being partnered up with Lenovo.  Other questions were geared towards whether or not Motorola was going to be selling “high priced” devices.  Motorola did not waste any time in answering that.

“Great smart phones should be available to everyone & days of $600 phones are limited”, is how the company responded and it should be noted the answer was not clear about “high end” or “high spec” devices, but actually about “high priced” devices.  It looks like the Moto X will still be one of the most affordable smartphones on the market and that is driving other smartphone makers to offer devices that have the same price points.  In the end the consumer wins and as long as Motorola can keep up, they have a good chance to carve out some market share in the Android world.
