Samsung Galaxy Note II: If you happen to have AT&T for your wireless provider and are rocking the variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note II released by the carrier in US shores, it looks like you will get a post-Christmas gift from your carrier. As it stands, AT&T has confirmed that today is the day that it will commence the rollout of the Multi-Window update to its version of the Samsung Galaxy Note II. With this development, the wireless provider is able to keep its promise of bringing the Multi-Windows feature to the second generation Samsung phablet – the last carrier in our side of the world to do so.
The Galaxy Note II for ATT is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $149.99.
For users of the AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II, the update is being rolled out via the usual OTA manner so a notification is bound to pop up on your handset once it can already be downloaded and applied to your phablet. If you have lost patience in waiting for the notification to come up, you also have the option of manually checking for the update by going to Settings > About phone > Updates and hit Check for updates to get the process rolling.
Once applied to the handset, this update which weighs in at about 178MB will bring the Multi-Window functionality to the AT&T variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note II. For the uninitiated, this feature basically enables users of the phablet to divide the screen of the Samsung Galaxy Note II into two active windows that leads where two applications can be run seamlessly and more importantly, simultaneously.
This update however will not make changes on the Android version of the Samsung Galaxy Note II which will stay at Android 4.1.2 for the time being. The carrier however hasn’t released any confirmation as of yet regarding its plans of getting the phablet upgraded to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and when we can expect this to come down. However, this Multi-Window update will be more than enough to keep you occupied while we all wait for word from AT&T regarding this.
As for the ATT Samsung Galaxy Note II 4G, the phablet is one of the most powerful devices in the market today and actually joins the Samsung Galaxy S III as the Korean electronics giant’s potent one-two punch combination in its bid for domination of the smartphone market. Under the hood, the circuitry of the Samsung Galaxy Note II is built around its Exynos 4412 Quad chipset which brings into play a quad-core 1.6 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor working with a staggering 2GB of RAM to ensure that the performance of the handset is always snappy and smooth.
The storage space onboard the Samsung Galaxy Note II comes up to 16GB but a dedicated microSD card slot in its chassis enables memory expansion on the phablet. Its display remains as its stand-out feature and this is a massive 5.5-inch SuperAMOLED HD panel with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels while its dual-shooter configuration features a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.9MP snapper.
You can purchase the Galaxy Note II for a discounted price tag now starting at $149.99.
