Aaahh, the elusive unicorn, the shy Loch Ness monster and the reclusive Bigfoot. Seldom seen, never proven and often talked about. Add to that list the mythical Verizon HTC One 4G Android smartphone, which recently received some good news on several fronts. Verizon has scheduled a July 23 announcement for its upcoming Droid devices, and no doubt they will sneak in a mention of the proposed launch date of the HTC One on their 4G LTE network in the United States at that time.
The HTC One 4G is available for AT&T and Spring for a reduced sale price now starting at .
Official details have been sketchy concerning a possible release date and operating system for the Verizon HTC One 4G, but no doubt it will be the same physically as the versions running on the Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile networks currently. Back in June both HTC and Verizon actually confirmed a partnership for the flagship smartphone, without revealing price point, features or a release date. But the good news is substantial rumors point to the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS as running on the handset.
This would be a significant dose of good news for Verizon HTC One owners, as it would be a boost up from the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system currently running on the variant offered by their competitors. That phone delivers a large 4.7 inch Full HD 1,080P capacitive, multitouch display, powerful quad core processor, premium metal unibody design and groundbreaking UltraPixel camera. It is obviously assumed this is the same model Verizon will deliver.
Usually dependable HTC leakster @LLabTooFer has previously tweeted that the Verizon HTC One version will definitely be running Android 4.2.2, when it arrives sometime later this summer. With Google announcing on July 24 the debut of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, a Verizon HTC One 4.2.2 debut would set that handset up nicely for a quick and effortless transition to the newer Android 4.3 operating system update. And with many other Android phones, such as the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II still without Android 4.2, that would give the Verizon HTC One a leg up on the competition in that regard.
A leaked Verizon in-house document has found its way to the World Wide Web, as is so often magically the case, showing a plan to release the HTC One 4G on August 1. This would arrive roughly a week after Google announces the debut of Android 4.3, and also a day after the end of a recent Google Play promotion, giving the Verizon 4G HTC One smartphone a perfect arrival right smack dab in the middle of a competitive summer smartphone season in the US.
