Now that the phone is a little older, it is time to keep the interest and according to at least one online source, there are new colors to choose from for the Moto X.  Motorola announced last week that there are nine new colors that users can choose from when customizing their Moto X via the MotoMaker.com website.  With March Madness coming in very quickly, the company wanted to offer more color options in case you wanted to dress your new phone up in colors of your favorite college team.  The nine new colors give users a total of 25 color options and tons of other combinations with the accent colors.

The Moto X College Collection added colors from more than 40 schools and now users can get the Moto X, customized to the colors they want with a case if available for just $399.  That price does not include any contract and that is one of the other big draws for the device.  Options for just 40 schools is not going to cover all of the smaller schools out there, but it can be expected that consumers will get to see more coming very soon.  If you happen to be a student, teacher or simply have an .edu email address, you can register at the Motorola website for $60 discount when making your new phone.

Before this announcement, the Moto Maker was making headlines when Motorola added wooden back covers that came in Bamboo, Ebony, Teak and Walnut.  At first the back covers were quite costly, but the company quickly moved the price back down to $25 for the custom wooden back covers that give your Moto X one of the most unique feels in the industry.  Motorola is also about to release the second generation Moto X2.
