galaxynoteThe Galaxy Note has been one of Samsung’s most wildly popular offerings, with physical dimensions and specifications leaning towards tablet territory. To enhance the Galaxy Note experience, Samsung is now offering its users a new upgraded operating system, the Android 4.1 Premium Suite, which includes a set of Galaxy Note centric apps to make most of the ample display real estate.

The original Samsung Galaxy Note is available now starting at $74.99.

The Android 4.1 aka Jelly Bean update will offer original Note owners a whole host of exciting options and features. Amongst the list of features available is a Multi Window feature which allows users to view and perform multiple tasks on the same screen. This feature could prove to be invaluable for heavy multi-taskers. Additionally, a range of Popup features including Popup Note, which facilitates writing notes while on a call; Popup Video, which facilitates opening videos while simultaneously operating another  app or process; and Popup Browser which facilitates web browsing and surfing while the user is doing something else.

While Popup features are great for multi-tasking professionals, the new upgrade also helps enhance the experience of regular applications on the Galaxy Note like the photo gallery. The Photo Note and the Photo Frame features enable users to write personal notes or taglines on the front or the back of photos while the Easy Clip feature enables users to crop, save and share text or images from any screen. The S-Pen’s functionalities have also seen a significant boost. The Suite’s S-Planner allows users to leave handwritten messages to themselves if they need personal reminders, in a manner similar to Sticky Notes. The Enhanced S Note feature allows users to compile notebooks or scrapbooks with images, videos, templates, and other effects and serves as an excellent application for light photo editing on the go.

The entire change log and list of new features can be found on the Galaxy Note website but aside from the articulated list of features there seems to be no indication as to when the update will be available to Note owners. While consumers and Note owners alike may have to wait, reports have come in that Samsung’s Android 4.1 Premium Suite update is being made available to Galaxy S III users, which suggests that a release for the OG Galaxy Note may not be far off.

You can purchase the original Samsung Galaxy Note now starting at $74.99.
