nexus5leakedGoogle announced the latest version of the Android operating system a little more than a month ago and since that day there have been rumors and leaked images showing the new Nexus 5 which is supposed to arrive this month with the Android 4.4 KitKat software pre-loaded on it.  The Nexus 5 is all rumors at this point, but for the most part Google is not all about keeping secrets and a lot of the consumer pushed rumors can be noted as proven correct based on other handsets that Google has released in the past.

The Nexus 5 is going to be a huge step up from the Nexus 4 in just about every single way that one can imagine.  According to a new, leaked image, the Nexus 5 shows the same design that was noted in FCC filings and resembles a design that might be similar to the Nexus 7 tablet.  Other leaks of the Nexus 5 were in video format and they clearly showcase a new device with Nexus branding.  The Nexus 5 is reportedly going to be developed by LG with a model number that reads D820.

The recently leaked image was offered via the MacRumors forum and shows the back side of the Nexus 5 with a smooth matte back side that many will notice from other images that showed up recently.  The user that posted the photo claims that the back feels much like the back side of the Nexus 7 tablet.  The user also went on to claim that the device is smaller than the LG G2 and that the screen does not wow like the Galaxy Note 3 does.  The display, however did have smaller bezels and it looks like the latest photo leak resembles others that have popped up recently.

If you are interested in picking up the Nexus 5, you will not have to wait too long as Google should be getting ready to release the phone this month.  The Nexus 4 has been put “out of stock” in the Google Play Store and the rumored launch of the fifth generation Nexus is the 14th of October.  That same day is being reserved to showcase the Nexus 10 and the Android 4.4 KitKat software which will come pre-loaded on both devices.  Other Nexus branded devices will also be able to install the new software shortly after that day.
