Samsung makes the mobile market buzz just about every single month and it does this with new smartphones, tablets, phablets and now it looks like the new user interface that has been rumored is about to add just the same amount of buzz. A set of images has leaked online last week and according to the one that posted them online via Twitter, the images showed the new user interface that Samsung is reportedly working on. It looks like the reports indicate that Samsung could be working on a user interface that marries what Google and HTC have brought to some of the most popular smartphones on the market.
HTC’s Sense user interface has the HTC BlinkFeed and Google brings Google Now to the latest Android software and now it has been reported that Samsung is looking to bring a similar app that brings both options together in one app. This week, the user interface has shown up again in a set of images that were posted via a Twitter account that is more well known for leaking correct information than not. The leak shows images that reveal new cards for fitness, coffee payments, reservations to dine, sports scores and a flight status.
For each of the cards that is posted on the home screen, there is an image that is associated with it. A Starbucks mug for coffee payments, airplane for flights and your favorite sports logo for up to the minute scores. Even though the leaked images showed up online, Samsung has not announced the user interface officially so what comes out in the final build could be something very different. The TouchWiz user interface has been around a while, but this would be the first major update for it.
User interfaces are popular in some regards as they add some specific functionality that a stock Android interface does not. However, as more smartphone users look at high end devices from other companies, but want the stock Android user interface they are out of luck unless they buy the unlocked “Google Edition” version of the smartphone. With Samsung bringing changes to the TouchWiz user interface it could bring a new light to how smartphone users see user interfaces. Until Samsung has announced the changes, they are going to be considered rumors, but seeing images posted online is a step in the right direction.
