The talk in tech town is revolving around the release of gorgeous new tablets that are about to hit the market. In recent news, all we’ve heard about is whether there will be a showdown between Apple’s new Mini iPad, Amazon’s new Kindle and of course Google’s latest, the Nexus 10. It is without doubt that with the recent launch of the iPad mini, Google is determined not to lag behind and will soon be releasing the much awaited Nexus 10 tablet while Amazon will have to hope its Kindle Fire HD can provide competition to these tablets.

Since the pictures of the upcoming Nexus 10 tablet have been leaked, credit to Google’s very own Vic Gundotra, the sixteen picture gallery unveiled by Brief Mobile has become quite the rage among technology blogs. The device is supposedly said to have an approximately 10 inch wide screen, with curved edges as well as a rear camera. Apart from these, many specifications of this much awaited tablet have also been put up on the website.

The device is said to have an Exynos 5250 dual-core processor at 1.7GHz, Mali T-604 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 10.1” super AMOLED display at 2560×1600, or about 300 pixels per square inch. Round off the specs list is a 5 MP rear camera and an unidentified front camera as well as NFC capability. The device is also said to be running on the latest 4.2 version of the Android, which allows multiple accounts. The Nexus 10 will perhaps be the only tablet shipping with Android 4.2 at the time of launch, which goes in line with Nexus devices always having the latest software on board.

With the unveiling of Google’s Nexus 10 on Monday at the Big Apple, and with Apple’s mini already in the market, the battle has begun. A sincere doubt that still lingers is whether Google’s price advantage will be the factor that will help it rise above Apple’s sales in the next quarter as Apple’s products offer a more premium experience, however, customers are increasingly being treated to a gamut of inexpensive but high quality tablets like the Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire HD, which leaves the battlefield open.

  1. Regarding: “A sincere doubt that still lingers is whether Google’s price advantage will be the factor that will help it rise above Apple’s sales in the next quarter as Apple’s products offer a more premium experience.”

The price isn’t the ONLY advantage. The google device also signficantly out does anything apple in hardware specifications, software quality, software features, and overall ecosystem.

I STRONGLY disagree with your assertion that “apple’s products offer a more premium experience” — this is absolute horse-poop. Everybody I know has ditched apple, because the “experience” was like being treated like a retarded child. This isn’t a “premium experience”, it is INSULTING. A premium experience is being treated WITH RESPECT.
